JCPD officers arrest trio in auto burglary, car thefts investigation

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested three people Oct. 13, following an investigation into several car thefts and auto burglaries that happened earlier this month.

According to a JCPD news release, officers arrested Jade Aukamp, 27, Jerry Leary, 30, and Michael Cox, 35.

Aukamp was charged with two counts of theft of property over $1,000, five counts of burglary of a vehicle and theft of property under $1,000.

Leary was charged with theft of property over $10,000, two counts of theft of property over $1,000, four counts of theft of property under $500 and five counts of burglary of a vehicle under $500.

Cox was charged with theft of property over $1,000, two counts of burglary of a vehicle under $500 and theft of property under $500.

All three were taken to the Washington County Detention Center. Aukamp was being held on $64,000 bond, Leary was being held on $84,000 bond and Cox was being held on $31,000 bond.

Aukamp, Leary and Cox were each scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Thursday at 1:30 p.m.Copyright 2015 WJHL. All rights reserved.
