JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man Wednesday on burglary and theft charges, following a report of break-ins at a home on South Greenwood Drive.

According to a JCPD news release, a report was filed on Dec. 12, 2015 about a person breaking into apartments and vehicles on South Greenwood Drive, where a victim said several items were taken from an apartment, valued at $3,305.

Officers located Matthew L. Hale, 24, of Johnson City, the night of the incident and charged him with auto burglary and theft of property under $500 for separate offense.

An investigation led detectives to suspect Hale of the burglary.

He was already being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a separate offense, and was served with the new charges — aggravated burglary and theft of property over $1,000.

Hale was being held in the detention center on $30,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Thursday at 1:30 p.m.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
