JCPD: Man to face auto burglary, theft charges

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man Wednesday, following a report of property taken from a box truck at the Dawn of Hope facility.

According to a JCPD news release, an employee at Dawn of Hope filed a report on March 30 saying that property was taken from a box truck at their facility on Eddie Williams Road in Johnson City.

The suspect’s tag information was taken down as he left the parking lot.

Police identified and arrested Phillip Jeffrey Lunsford, 55, and charged him with auto burglary and theft under $500.

Lunsford was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $6,000 bond.

He was scheduled for an arraignment in Sessions Court Thursday at 1:30 p.m.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
