JCPD: Man faces assault charges after injuring roommate with box cutter

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man Tuesday on assault charges after he reportedly cut his roommate with a box cutter during an argument.

According to a JCPD news release, officers were called to Heritage Trailer Park around 2:30 p.m. in reference to a domestic dispute and made contact with the victim who had minor cuts to his torso.

The victim told police that he and his roommate, Gregory Richardson, 37, of Johnson City, had been arguing over money and said Richardson cut him with box cutter.

According to police, Richardson was the primary aggressor and was arrested on aggravated domestic assault charges.

He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $10,000 bond.

Richardson was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.Copyright 2015 WJHL. All rights reserved.
