Johnson City Police Department investigators arrested a man following an April investigation into stolen brass fixtures from Johnson City’s Water and Sewer Department.

According to a JCPD news release, Danny Ray Clark, 59, 245 Riggs Road in Watauga, was charged after an investigation revealed that over the course of a year he had taken over 1,200 pounds of brass fittings and fixtures from the Johnson City Water Department.

Clark reportedly sold the brass fittings to various metal recycling dealers in the region.

He was arrested Thursday and charged with embezzlement over $10,000.

Clark was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $10,000 bond.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Friday.
