JCPD: Georgia man arrested for attempting to pass forged prescriptions at CVS, Walgreens

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man from Covington, Ga. Thursday, after employees at a Johnson City pharmacy reported that he tried to pass forged prescriptions.

According to a JCPD news release, employees from CVS Pharmacy, 1940 S. Roan St., called police and said the suspect trying to pass forged prescriptions left the store.

Employees gave police a description of the vehicle.

According to the release, dispatch received a similar call at Walgreens Pharmacy, 1430 S. Roan St. and officers saw the described vehicle leaving Walgreens and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver — Marques Deguire, 25 — was identified as the suspect and was charged with three counts of forgery and three counts of obtaining narcotics by fraud.

Deguire was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $18,000 bond.

He was scheduled for arraignment in Sessions Court Friday at 9 a.m.Copyright 2015 WJHL. All rights reserved.
