JCPD arrest woman on auto burglary, theft charges

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a woman Wednesday, following reports of two auto burglaries and thefts in Johnson City.

According to a JCPD news release, police received auto burglaries report on July 18 and on Aug. 14.

The victims of both auto burglaries reported that their driver’s licenses and other items were taken from their vehicles.

On Aug. 18, officers received reports of shoplifting from Lowes, 180 Market Place Blvd. and J.C. Penney, 2011 N. Roan St.

The suspect – later identified as Chelsea Michelle Isbell, 24, of Johnson City – was reportedly in possession of one of the stolen driver’s licenses, was identified and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

During Isbell’s arrest, police found her in possession of a second driver’s license and other property that had been reported stolen.

Isbell was charged with two counts of auto burglary and two counts of theft under $500.

She was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held on $12,000 bond.

Isbell was scheduled to appear for her arraignment in Washington County Sessions Court Thursday at 1:30 p.m.Copyright 2015 WJHL. All rights reserved.
