The Tennessee Valley Authority is still trying to repair a leak near Boone Dam. As engineers continue to try to fix the leak, lake levels have remained low.
The Johnson City Parks and Recreation Department is trying to preserve and enhance the exposed parts of the lake bed.
“We saw that brown area of the beach and we planted some wild flowers to enhance the bank stop erosion,” said Johnson City Parks and Recreation Director Roger Blakeley.
Blakeley said the project didn’t cost much, but it will at least make the area more aesthetically pleasing.
Thursday TVA will host a public forum to answer questions about their progress towards fixing the leak near Boone Dam.
That meeting will begin at 5:30 pm at the Millenium Centre in Johnson City.Copyright 2015 WJHL. All rights reserved.
