Inmate charged after trying to get drugs while in Johnson City jail

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – A woman currently being held in the Johnson City jail was charged by Johnson City Police Department Monday, after an investigation revealed that she tried to get people to bring her narcotics in her belongings to the jail.

According to a JCPD news release, Joshua Linebarger and Terry Sanders were charged after they tried to bring narcotics to an inmate inside the jail.

The inmate, Jessica L. Linebarger, 25, of Knoxville, was arrested and charged after she tried to get people to bring narcotics into the jail inside her belongings and falsified a statement about the incident.

Police found narcotics inside a container.

Linebarger was charged with introduction of contraband into a penal facility and filing a false report.

She was being held in the Johnson City jail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.Copyright 2015 WJHL. All rights reserved.
