DUFFIELD, VA (WJHL-TV) – There is a special health registry event happening in Duffield, VA on Saturday, June 25.
The Duffield Project will be holding a health registry at the Duffield Fire Department. Former workers of Foote Mineral, their immediate families, and people who have lived in the Duffield, Sunbright, Mabe, Stanleytown and Horton’s Summit area that are chronically ill are strongly encouraged to attend.
Participants may come anytime between 12:00 and 5:00 p.m. to fill out a health questionnaire, visit with friends and neighbors, and enjoy refreshments. Volunteers will stay as late as necessary to make sure everyone gets signed up.
A health map will be created from the data to help determine if there is any connection to the concentration of illness in the area in relation to the former Foote Mineral plant.
There is no cost to participate in The Duffield Project. For more information, call 276-940-2118 or visit the Facebook group, The Duffield Project.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
