Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is asking the federal government to make a major disaster declaration following February’s flooding and severe storms.

Lee sent a formal request to President Donald Trump on Friday.

A disaster declaration would make federal disaster relief available to 58 Tennessee counties, including Carter, Greene, Hawkins, Johnson, and Unicoi counties.

Lee says qualifying losses total $68.3 million.
