Former Oak Ridge police officer charged with aggravated statutory rape

OAK RIDGE (WATE) – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a former officer after allegations that he may have had inappropriate contact with a minor while he was on duty with the Oak Ridge Police Department.

Cassen Jackson-Garrison was arrested just after noon Friday in Mt. Juliet by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. TBI said an Anderson County Grand Jury returned indictments against him for charges of felony official misconduct and felony aggravated statutory rape.

According to the indictments, the victim was between 13 and 18-years-old and Jackson-Garrison was at least 10 years old than the victim at the time of the incident. He is expected to be arraigned on charges in circuit and criminal court for the 7th Judicial District on May 23.

TBI said Jackson-Garrison is being transported to the Anderson County Jail. His bond was set at $25,000.Copyright 2016 WATE. All rights reserved.
