Former Clinchco, Va. mayor who pleaded guilty to using town funds for home improvements sentenced

DICKENSON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – A former mayor of Clinchco, Va. will serve the next six months in federal prison.

Peggy Sue Stanley Mickens pleaded guilty Thursday to several charges stemming from her using town funds to make improvements and repairs to her personal home while mayor.

A federal judge sentenced Mickens to six months in prison and ordered her to pay over $6,000 in restitution to the town.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
