Football fans pack Macado’s in Kingsport for a party on the patio

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL)– A portion of Broad Street in Kingsport was closed Thursday night to make way for a party in the street. Macado’s restaurant held a “party on the patio” event to get the community pumped up for the Battle at Bristol game by having the band “Catfish Frye” perform while serving up some of their signature dishes.

It was pretty clear one team was being represented a little more than their opponent. University of Tennessee fan Hope Nelson was decked out to support he favorite team.

She said, “I have no shame, I’m a huge Vols fan and I’m definitely excited to see UT beat Virginia Tech on Saturday.”

Volunteers fan Brandon Minton described the party on the patio. He said, “Oh, it’s awesome! Everyone here, I think, are UT fans except for a few people who don’t know any better.”

People were literally dancing in the street to celebrate the Battle at Bristol kickoff and the night wrapped up with karaoke.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
