JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- Two people are behind bars following a robbery at Eastman Credit Union in Johnson City. Johnson City Police Lieutenant Kevin Peters said a man presented a note to a cashier during the robbery. Peters said they have arrested two suspects on unrelated charges and say they’ll be indicted later.
Peters said, “The suspect that we were looking for actually had some federal charges through the federal court system so at that point in time, we apprehended him on those charges and he’s going to be indicted on the robbery charges later in time, in federal court.”
Peters said JCPD is waiting for official charges to be placed before releasing the suspects’ names. The case has been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for prosecution through the court system.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
