PIGEON FORGE, TN (WJHL) – Country music legend Dolly Parton will be honored Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music Awards. But it’s her planned performance that’s getting all the buzz.

Dolly told News Channel 11 she’ll sing a duet with Katy Perry after the pop star (and Dolly fan) presents her with the Tex Ritter Award for her 2015 movie “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors.”

“Katy’s going to be presenting the award to me and since we’re there, we might as well sing half of a Coat of Many Colors and half of Jolene,” she told Josh Smith in a recent interview at Dollywood. “So we’re actually going to do a little more than half of both songs.”

Partons said she’d never met Perry before but had been told the pop singer had visited the Dollywood theme park and was a fan of her work.

The 2016 ACM’s air at 8 p.m. on CBS Sunday April 3rd.Previous stories:
