TRI-CITIES, TN/VA (WJHL)- Dolly Parton now has one more honor to add to her long list of accomplishments after receiving the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at Wednesday night’s CMA Awards.

At the awards show, Parton said, “To be receiving the Willie Nelson award … this is an absolute high for me!”

The sassy sequin-adorned singer gave the crowd in Nashville a few laughs as she graciously accepted her latest award. News Channel 11 caught up with the busy songstress for a rare phone interview on Thursday, where she hinted at some future projects.

“Every day I have new dreams,” she said. “So, I’ve got a lot of plans … some TV things, movie things, plays and parks and producing things. I also have a line of makeup and some clothes stuff down the line.”

“I’ve got dreams all the time that I’d like to see come true while I’m still living and I’m living it to the fullest,” Parton said.

Parton also spoke about the growing success of her theme park, Dollywood.

She said, “I had some apprehension from some of my lawyers and some of my business people who thought that I was making a mistake, but I still went on with it and it makes me feel good that I was right about it.”

“It’s all for family and I’m just so happy that it’s worked out. I take a lot of pride in it, but I don’t take it for granted. I’m grateful for it,” Parton said.

Dolly is getting ready to release her new movie, “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” and with the holidays just around the corner, the legendary country star is sharing some of her signature Christmas traditions.

“In our family, we always get together and sing and talk and cook and eat and talk about everybody… when they leave the room! Haha, but seriously … I love to bake cookies with my little nieces and nephews,” Parton said.

“I always have a night with my young nieces and nephews and they spend the night with me. I have an elevator in my house and we paint it up like a chimney and I go bring down presents dressed like Santa Claus and just have fun for myself and for the kids. I’m a kid myself at Christmas.”

Dolly is currently in the midst of her “Pure and Simple” concert tour and says incorporating her biggest hits into her set list is key for any tour.

“You have to include your big hits, the ones that people would kill you if you didn’t do … You try to figure out what’s most entertaining. There’s a lot that goes into making even a ‘Pure and Simple’ show, like mine,” she said.

Dolly’s “Pure and Simple” concert tour will be making a stop in Pigeon Forge on Nov. 11, but tickets are already sold out for the event. There are, however, many more stops planned for Dolly throughout the country.
