Crossfit hero workout created in memory of fallen TBI officer

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- On Saturday Crossfit gyms across three states held a hero workout to benefit the family of a fallen TBI Officer.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Officer De’Greaun Frazier was shot and killed earlier this month during an undercover operation.

More than two dozen Crossfit gyms in Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina held a “Dee” workout in honor of Frazier.

Saturday morning we visited Crossfit East 10 in Johnson City where more than 30 people were hard at work trying to complete the workout.

Allan Rutledge with the Johnson City Police Department was one of the participants.

“When your remembering that someone did sacrifice their life to protect the community, and protect us as citizens, and to know when were doing that there is no option to quit and you need to push yourself a little further and harder than you normally would,” Rutledge said.

There was an entry fee of $20 that went toward helping Frazier’s family.

At Crossfit East 10 they had already raised more than $500 for the cause.Copyright WJHL 2016. All rights reserved.
