MARION, Va. (WJHL) – A suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Marion man Monday morning.
An updated release from Smyth County Sheriff Chip Shuler states that Jacob Seth Andreshak, 32, of Marion, was arrested by officers with the Marion Police Department after law enforcement was alerted to a shooting around 12:41 a.m. Police were called to Remington Lane in Marion where they reported finding a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Shuler reports Andreshak has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon. As of Monday afternoon, Andreshak is awaiting arraignment in Smyth County General District Court.
The victim was identified as Charles Johnathan Wojciechowicz, 39. Shuler stated that his body has been sent to Roanoke for an autopsy.
