BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) – The Bristol, Virginia Police Department (BVPD) is asking for help finding a suspect in a Wednesday shooting at a gas station.
According to the original release, officers were called to a reported shooting at the Marathon gas station at 325 Commonwealth Avenue. Once they arrived, officers reportedly found a man with a bullet wound to his neck inside the store.

“After further investigation, it has been determined that [original suspect] is not responsible for the shooting incident,” the BVPD said.
Originally, the original suspect was identified by the shooting victim and another person at the scene, the release stated.
Further investigation and new information reportedly revealed that the original suspect was not present at the scene during the alleged shooting.
BVPD reports the new suspect is driving a red Saturn Vue with an unknown Tennessee registration.
The wounded man was transported to the Bristol Regional Medical Center and was described by the BVPD as being in stable condition as of Thursday.
The investigation remains ongoing.
