One lane has reopened on Interstate 26 west after a crash damaged a bridge Monday afternoon.
It happened at mile marker 13 near the Bobby Hicks Highway exit.
According to TDOT, a truck went over the side of the bridge that spans Buckingham Road.
Officials at the scene said one person was taken to the hospital and no other vehicles were involved.
The crash caused extensive delays for westbound traffic between Gray and Johnson City during rush hour Monday.
TDOT Spokesperson Mark Nagi tweeted Monday evening that one westbound lane has reopened but crews will have to repair the bridge’s parapet that was damaged in the crash.
It is unclear how long it will take to complete the repairs.
