Today’s Community Heroes.. yes.. that’s heroes with an “s”… are a group we all rely on. And it just so happens their profession’s in the spotlight these days: they’re the linemen for Pike Electric, contracted by BrightRidge.
One of their wives, Rebecca Tipton, brought them to our attention… calling them `men from our area who get sent-out all over to help restore power after storms.’ They’ve been to Florida for Irma, Texas for Harvey, and even New Jersey for Sandy. And, at this point, they’ll likely head back down to Florida in the wake of Hurricane Michael.
Rebecca says what a lot of us don’t realize is how linemen routinely leave their families and risk their lives to restore power and save others… like a man recently stranded in his vehicle… surrounded by storm waters.
Congratulations to our area linemen from Pike Electric and BrightRidge.. you’re this week’s Community Heroes.
