Coeburn, VA police arrest man for alleged rape and assault

COEBURN, VA (WJHL) – Coeburn Police arrested a man accused of raping and attacking a woman.

Police told News Channel 11 they served arrest warrants on Danny Kiser Wednesday.

He’s charged with assault and battery, malicious wounding and aggravated sexual assault.

Investigators said the incident happened in the early morning hours of July 20th at John Van Diver Manor.

The victim told police she was with Kiser at that time and he had been drinking.

She said that’s when Kiser hit her in the face and damaged her eye.

She also told police she was sexually assaulted.

Police said the victim told them what happened and they obtained warrants for Kiser’s arrest.

He was arrested at 221 Front E Street in Coeburn Wednesday where they say Kiser owns a business.

Kiser was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

He was taken to the Duffield Regional Jail where he is being held without bond.
