Charlotte shooting leaves officer injured and suspect in critical condition


CHARLOTTE, NC – A shooting in southwest Charlotte Saturday night left three people wounded, including a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer.

Police say 25-year-old Joshuale Matthews-Vincent Carter is accused of shooting the officer and another victim.

Police say Carter is currently in critical condition at Carolinas Medical Center.

Sunday morning during a  news conference Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the officer injured in the crossfire, identified as Lieutenant Andy Harris, was in stable condition.

Officers say Harris will spend the night at the hospital to make sure he makes a full recovery.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
