Carter County sheriff’s deputies searching for pursuit suspect

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office says it needs your help finding a man who reportedly evaded deputies during a chase Thursday night in the Stoney Creek community.

Deputies say around 8:20 p.m. deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Stoney Creek area.

Witnesses told police they saw a red Ford truck ‘casing’ homes in the area.  

A deputy responded and said they saw the truck matching the description of the suspect and tried to make a traffic stop. 

Deputies said the driver did not stop and they, as a result, pursued the driver. 

The suspect reportedly crashed the truck on Bill Lewis Road ran away. Deputies said they pursued the suspect until he got into the river.

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect as Lance Justin Lewis.

Lewis is facing charges of felony evading arrest, among other charges, according to deputies.

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office says he is known to live in the Stoney Creek area.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call investigators at 423-543-2211.
