Brush fire burns two vacant homes

BRISTOL, TN (WJHL) – Multiple units responded to a fire that set two structures on fire in Bristol, TN.

The East Volunteer Fire Department said the call came in around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Captain Matt Kegley told News Channel 11 that a man was burning some brush over a ridge near the intersection of Wampler and Vance Tank, the fire then became out of control.

“It caught a structure on fire and it caught an additional structure on fire, we arrived on scene we extinguished the fire within five to ten minutes,” Kegley said.

Kegley said the two homes were vacant and had no power to them. No injuries were reported and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the fire.Copyright WJHL 2016. All rights reserved.
