BRISTOL, VA (WJHL) – A Bristol, Va. couple was sentenced this month, following their indictment to three counts each of cruelty to a child.
According to a Bristol City Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office news release, Bryan and Melissa Harr were indicted on Nov. 2, 2015, following allegations they had locked three minor children in a “small, dirty bedroom for hours at a time on a daily basis.”
The Harr’s pleaded guilty to the charged and were found guilty on Nov. 13, 2015.
On Feb. 2, Bryan Harr was sentenced to a total of 15 years in the state penitentiary and suspended 10 years and six months of the term. Harr will serve four years and six months in prison.
The judge also imposed a term of probation, which required that Harr not have any contact with the minor victims.
Melissa Harr was sentenced on Feb. 9 in Bristol City Circuit Court to a total of 15 years in the state penitentiary and suspended twelve years of the term. Harr will serve three years in prison.
