Batesville mayor, HIV-positive prostitute arrested

BATESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The mayor of Batesville has been arrested for patronizing a prostitute.

Indiana State Police say that Richard Fledderman paid for sex with Randy Wigle-Stevens of Indianapolis in June.

Wigle-Stevens has been arrested for prostitution as well as failing to disclose his HIV status to Fledderman.

ISP officials said Wigle-Stevens was going to go public with the information unless Fledderman paid him off.

Fledderman was arrested for one count of patronizing a prostitute, a Class A misdemeanor.

Wigle-Stevens faces preliminary charges of prostitution and intimidation, both Class A misdemeanors. He also could face one count of failure to disclose a dangerous communicable disease, a level 6 felony.Copyright 2015 WISH. All rights reserved.
