Authorities ID 4th of July drowning victim in Cherokee National Forest


MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Investigators have identified the East Tennessee man who drowned in the Cherokee National Forest on the 4th of July.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at Bald River Falls.

Investigators say the victim is 49-year-old Mark Beasley from Sweetwater.

No further information surrounding his death has been released.
