BRISTOL, TN (WJHL)– King University helped kids in the community be able to stay warm this winter with their annual ‘coats for kids’ drive.
The university accepted donations of gently used or new coats that were then dry-cleaned. And today those coats gained new homes, as hundreds of children in the community, came to choose from the large coat selection and find their favorite coat—
It’s a basic necessity for kids and this drive is helping those less fortunate be able warm up, just as temperatures are beginning to drop.
Julie McReynolds with King University said, “It’s been great to see the community participation. Today is great, just to see the kids pick out a coat, and see them leave and they’re all excited to have a new coat”.
The university also hosted a fun day for the kids in Kline gym. The event included fun and games for the families. The ‘coats for kids’ drive is celebrating its 16th year and will return next fall for the annual drive.Copyright 2015 WJHL. All Rights Reserved.
