(WJHL) – Law enforcement teams, firefighters, and EMS personnel are the first to respond in an emergency.  In many of those emergencies, lives are on the line.

You can say, “Thank you,” by rolling up your sleeve and donating blood in the 9th Annual American Red Cross – News Channel 11 Battle of the Badges.

If you are not familiar with the campaign, here’s how it works.  When you donate blood at a Red Cross blood drive September 1 through September 11, you get to vote for your favorite first responder team.  The team with the most votes at the end of the campaign gets bragging rights and a plaque from the American Red Cross.

The Battle of the Badges Blood Drives are listed below.  You can make an appointment by logging on to www.redcrossblood.org or calling 1.800.red.cross.
