2.6 magnitude earthquake recorded north of Mascot, TN in Knox County

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Northeast Knox County experienced a small 2.6 earthquake Sunday night.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake had a depth of 4 and a half miles.

It occurred at 11:11 p.m., less than a mile southeast of Mascot, TN.

A second Tennessee earthquake was recorded at a 1.7 magnitude Monday morning 2.5 miles from Madisonville, TN.
