Nearly 10,000 in attendance at Pres. Trump's Johnson City rally

Secret Service estimates 20,000 on the grounds

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - It was a historic day for Johnson City on Monday as the President of the United States visited the Tri-Cities region to hold a rally at Freedom Hall. 

Officials tell us nearly 10,000 people attended President Donald Trump's Make America Great Again rally.  

According to Lisa Chamness of Freedom Hall, between 6300 and 6500 people were allowed inside Freedom hall during the rally last night. 

Another 1,000 went to the overflow area in the facility's overflow area -- auxiliary gym to watch the rally on tv monitors.

We're told another 1,500 to 2,000 people watched on monitors outside Freedom Hall in the front plaza. 

The Secret Service estimates around 20,000 people were on the ground of Freedom Hall on Monday night. 

Freedom Hall says it had six full-time staffers working last night and another 8 to 10 people working concessions.
