Local mothers weigh in before vote on Katie Beckett program

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - Local mothers are speaking out after the Tennessee Senate voted to only partially fund a Katie Beckett program.

The Katie Beckett program would allow children with complex disabilities to receive medical insurance, no matter their parents' income.

The Tennessee House recently voted to fund the entire $27 million for the Katie Beckett program, but the Senate only voted to fund half.

The measure for the Katie Beckett bill is expected to come up for a vote once again tomorrow.
