Deputies capture inmate who escaped work crew in Unicoi County

UNICOI COUNTY, TN (WJHL) - Deputies in Unicoi County captured an inmate who escaped from a work crew on Thursday. According to Sheriff Mike Hensley, Isaiah Hicks was spotted by someone at Priceless Foods in the county. Deputies shortly arrested him "without incident", said the sheriff. 

Sheriff Hensley told News Channel 11 Hicks planned on leaving town and "catching a train". 

The sheriff said Hicks was found seven miles from where he ran away from a work detail. 

The sheriff's office said at the time of his capture, he had one different clothes. 

Hicks, said the sheriff, will be charged with escape. 

News Channel 11 was told on Thursday Hicks ran away from the work detail in Earnestville. 

Hensley said Hicks is from Knoxville and was serving time for Burglary and Violation of Probation.  

Sheriff Hensley said he wants to thank the public for helping to find the inmate.
