Customers want answers after Shooting Edge abruptly closes

PINEY FLATS, TN (WJHL) - Shooters Edge announced Tuesday that it will be permanently closing its doors to the public and the abrupt closure has customers asking questions about the money they paid for memberships, gift cards and hand gun carry permit classes.

"We are making arrangements to do two things at this point. One, refund those people, and number two put them in a comparable carrier class with some other folks that offer the same services that we do," said Don Reimer, General Manager and Owner of Shooters Edge.

The company has been operating for eight years and it decided to close after a decrease in customers.

"Interest in gun sales and gun rentals, memberships in general has fallen off quite quickly and our expenses don't stop," said Reimer.

Shooter's Edge announced on social media that the company has "struggled mightily over the past year and half or so... but unfortunately these last few weeks proved to be too much."

The most popular purchase at Shooters Edge was the hand gun carry permit eight hour class that was offered on Saturdays to twelve people.

For those who were scheduled to participate in a class, it will likely be transferred to a local outdoor shooting range. For those who purchased memberships or gift cards recently, the company is working on reimbursement.

Reimer sees his customers as friends and he will to everything that he can to remedy the situation.
