UPDATE: Lockdown lifted at Cloudland schools following 'situation' at local market

CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) - 12:10 p.m. UPDATE- News Channel 11 has learned that a lockdown has been lifted for two schools in Carter County.

We're told that lockdown was officially lifted for Cloudland schools between 10:45 and 11 a.m.

Previous story: A pair of schools are currently under lockdown in Carter County. 

Carter County Schools Director Dr. Kevin Ward tells News Channel 11 that Cloudland schools are currently under lockdown. 

Student resource officers are currently at the Cloudland schools monitoring the situation. 

The lockdown is going on at this time due to a "situation" at the Cloudland Super Market, according to Dr. Ward.

Carter County Sheriff's Office says the lockdown is due to an abundance of caution.

There is no threat to the public at this time.
