VDH: No new COVID-19 deaths in SWVA, 45 new local cases

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 171,426 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth on Wednesday.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 185,836.

VDH reports there have been 3,416 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

VDH reported Wednesday morning that there are 12,631 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 166 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 326 cases / 20 hospitalizations/ 7 deaths
Buchanan County – 278 cases / 17 hospitalizations/ 4 deaths
Dickenson County – 162 cases / 9 hospitalizations/ 1 death (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Lee County – 598 cases / 33 hospitalizations/ 10 deaths (6 new cases)
Norton – 54 cases / 5 hospitalizations
Russell County – 545 cases / 46 hospitalizations / 8 deaths (2 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Scott County – 478 cases / 33 hospitalizations / 7 deaths (4 new cases)
Smyth County – 682 cases / 56 hospitalizations / 27 deaths (7 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Tazewell County – 572 cases / 30 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths
Washington County, Va. – 1,144 cases / 95 hospitalizations / 28 deaths (22 new cases)
Wise County – 734 cases / 4 hospitalizations / 10 deaths

On Wednesday, VDH reported 45 new cases of COVID-19 in Southwest Virginia and no new deaths.

Washington County reported 22 new cases on Wednesday.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
