VDH: No new COVID-19 deaths in Southwest Virginia, 38 new cases

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 38 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths related to the virus on Tuesday.

Statewide, VDH reported 515,249 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 662,696.

VDH reports there have been 9,110 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,473 cases / 97 hospitalizations / 33 deaths (6 new cases / 2 new hospitalizations)
Buchanan County – 1,416 cases / 101 hospitalizations / 38 deaths (6 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Dickenson County – 925 cases / 40 hospitalizations / 15 deaths (2 new cases)
Lee County – 2,414 cases / 110 hospitalizations / 46 deaths
Norton – 281 cases / 18 hospitalizations / 7 deaths
Russell County – 2,245 cases / 130 hospitalizations / 38 deaths (1 new case)
Scott County – 1,811 cases / 124 hospitalizations / 52 deaths (2 new hospitalizations)
Smyth County – 2,899 cases / 197 hospitalizations / 91 deaths (8 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Tazewell County – 3,595 cases / 158 hospitalizations / 67 deaths (2 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Washington County, Va. – 4,848 cases / 416 hospitalizations / 106 deaths (7 new cases/ 3 new hospitalizations)
Wise County – 3,136 cases / 160 hospitalizations / 96 deaths (6 new cases)
