VDH: 82 new COVID-19 cases in SWVA, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 159,060 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth on Thursday.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 170,104.

VDH reports there have been 3,274 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

VDH reported Thursday morning that there are 11,953 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 120 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 245 cases / 19 hospitalizations/ 7 deaths (5 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Buchanan County – 245 cases / 15 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (4 new cases)
Dickenson County – 127 cases / 8 hospitalizations/ 1 death (4 new cases)
Lee County – 422 cases / 33 hospitalizations/ 9 deaths (9 new cases)
Norton – 46 cases / 5 hospitalizations (1 new case)
Russell County – 448 cases / 39 hospitalizations / 8 deaths (11 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Scott County – 310 cases / 24 hospitalizations / 5 deaths (10 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Smyth County – 607 cases / 53 hospitalizations / 24 deaths (3 new cases)
Tazewell County – 447 cases / 19 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (10 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 867 cases / 78 hospitalizations / 26 deaths (17 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 550 cases / 39 hospitalizations / 9 deaths (8 new cases)

On Thursday, VDH reported 82 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia and no new deaths.

Washington County reported 17 new cases on Thursday.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
