VDH: 70 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia; no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 153,117 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth on Thursday.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 162,941.

VDH reports there have been 3,149 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state as of Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, VDH reported 11,602 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 102 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered.County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 223 cases / 14 hospitalizations/ 7 deaths
Buchanan County – 219 cases / 13 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (4 new cases)
Dickenson County – 118 cases / 8 hospitalizations/ 1 death (6 new cases)
Lee County – 359 cases / 32 hospitalizations/ 8 deaths (5 new cases/ 2 hospitalizations)
Norton – 44 cases / 5 hospitalizations (1 new case)
Russell County – 3386 cases / 34 hospitalizations / 8 deaths (18 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Scott County – 240 cases / 20 hospitalizations / 5 deaths (5 new cases)
Smyth County – 583 cases / 51 hospitalizations / 22 deaths (2 new cases)
Tazewell County – 395 cases / 18 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (7 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 778 cases / 72 hospitalizations / 21 deaths (20 new cases)
Wise County – 500 cases / 35 hospitalizations / 9 deaths (2 new cases)

On Thursday, VDH reported 70 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia and no new deaths.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
