VDH: 70 new cases and no new deaths reported in Southwest Virginia Sunday

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) — Southwest Virginia counties reported 70 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Sunday, according to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).

Statewide, VDH reported 381,441 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 472,447.

VDH reports there have been 5,361 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,158 cases / 71 hospitalizations / 24 deaths (10 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Buchanan County – 1,031 cases / 73 hospitalizations / 27 deaths (5 new cases)
Dickenson County – 804 cases / 32 hospitalizations / 13 deaths (6 new cases)
Lee County – 2,046 cases / 85 hospitalizations / 33 deaths (6 new cases)
Norton – 224 cases / 14 hospitalizations / 2 deaths
Russell County – 1,885 cases / 101 hospitalizations / 21 deaths (6 new cases)
Scott County – 1,459 cases / 98 hospitalizations / 41 deaths (3 new cases)
Smyth County – 2,325 cases / 155 hospitalizations / 69 deaths (7 new cases)
Tazewell County – 2,909 cases/ 114 hospitalizations / 29 deaths (10 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 3,905 cases / 282 hospitalizations / 71 deaths (13 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Wise County – 2,579 cases / 133 hospitalizations / 82 deaths (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
