VDH: 62 new COVID-19 cases reported in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL)- The Virginia Department of Health reported 139,961 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state on Tuesday.

The total number of probable and confirmed cases in Virginia is 147,516.

VDH said there have been 2,976 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state along with 211 probable COVID-19 deaths.

On Tuesday, VDH reported 10,832 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 84 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Bristol, Va. – 186 cases / 10 hospitalizations/ 5 deaths
Buchanan County – 149 cases / 9 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (9 new cases)
Dickenson County – 102 cases / 7 hospitalizations/ 1 death (1 new case)
Lee County – 273 cases / 24 hospitalizations/ 7 deaths (3 new cases)
Norton – 34 cases / 3 hospitalizations
Russell County – 272 cases / 25 hospitalizations / 5 deaths (8 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Scott County – 189 cases / 16 hospitalizations / 4 deaths
Smyth County – 512 cases / 48 hospitalizations / 20 deaths (16 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Tazewell County – 316 cases / 16 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (12 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 585 cases / 60 hospitalizations / 20 deaths (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 421 cases / 32 hospitalizations / 9 deaths (9 new cases)

On Tuesday, VDH reported 62 new cases of COVID-19 in Southwest Virginia and no new deaths.

Smyth County reported 16 new cases, while Tazewell County reported 12 new cases.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
