VDH: 54 new COVID-19 cases; no new deaths reported in Southwest Virginia Friday

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 54 new cases of COVID-19, and no new deaths in Southwest Virginia Friday. This marks the third day in a row Southwest Virginia reports no new COVID-19 deaths.

Statewide, VDH reported 486,047 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 622,339.

VDH reports there have been 8,626 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,290 cases / 85 hospitalizations / 31 deaths (6 new cases)
Buchanan County – 1,353 cases / 96 hospitalizations / 36 deaths (3 new case)
Dickenson County – 907 cases / 40 hospitalizations / 15 deaths (1 new case)
Lee County – 2,367 cases / 105 hospitalizations / 45 deaths (2 new cases)
Norton – 253 cases / 17 hospitalizations / 6 deaths (0 new cases)
Russell County – 2,166 cases / 127 hospitalizations / 35 deaths (1 new case)
Scott County – 1,709 cases / 116 hospitalizations / 51 deaths (6 new cases)
Smyth County – 2,639 cases / 181 hospitalizations / 89 deaths (4 new cases)
Tazewell County – 3,403 cases / 150 hospitalizations / 64 deaths (10 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 4,503 cases / 373 hospitalizations / 100 deaths (13 new cases)
Wise County – 2,996 cases / 155 hospitalizations / 92 deaths (8 new cases)
