VDH: 54 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, 13 in Russell County

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 96,807 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state on Monday.

The total case number of probable cases in Virginia is 100,749.

VDH said there have been 2,215 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state along with 112 probable COVID-19 deaths.

On Monday, VDH reported 8,341 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 50 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 80 cases / 7 hospitalizations (2 new cases)
Buchanan County – 80 cases / 3 hospitalizations
Dickenson County – 43 cases / 4 hospitalizations / 1 death (2 new cases)
Lee County – 121 cases / 9 hospitalizations/ 1 death (6 new cases)
Norton – 19 cases / 2 hospitalizations (1 new case)
Russell County – 128 cases / 11 hospitalizations / 2 deaths (13 new cases)
Scott County – 102 cases / 9 hospitalizations / 3 deaths (11 new cases)
Smyth County – 150 cases / 10 hospitalizations / 3 deaths (2 new cases)
Tazewell County – 119 cases / 8 hospitalizations (2 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 233 cases / 21 hospitalizations / 5 deaths (4 new cases)
Wise County – 141 cases / 16 hospitalizations / 3 deaths (11 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)

On Monday, VDH reported 54 new cases in Southwest Virginia and no new deaths.

Russell County reported 13 new cases on Monday, while Wise and Scott counties reported 11 new cases each.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
