VDH: 41 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 41 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths related to the virus in Southwest Virginia on Friday.

Statewide, VDH reported 537,983 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.ADVERTISING

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 694,384.

VDH reports there have been 9,735 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,629 cases / 125 hospitalizations / 36 deaths (4 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Buchanan County – 1,583 cases / 121 hospitalizations / 46 deaths (4 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Dickenson County – 1,017 cases / 47 hospitalizations / 19 deaths (6 new cases)
Lee County – 2,459 cases / 115 hospitalizations / 48 deaths (1 new case)
Norton – 303 cases / 19 hospitalizations / 7 deaths
Russell County – 2,336 cases / 134 hospitalizations / 40 deaths (1 new case)
Scott County – 1,914 cases / 131 hospitalizations / 61 deaths (2 new cases)
Smyth County – 3,021 cases / 208 hospitalizations / 96 deaths (4 new cases)
Tazewell County – 3,797 cases / 184 hospitalizations / 76 deaths (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Washington County, Va. – 5,143 cases / 443 hospitalizations / 115 deaths (8 new cases)
Wise County – 3,354 cases / 185 hospitalizations / 105 deaths (7 new cases)
