VDH: 3rd COVID-19 death reported in Bristol, Va.

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL)- The Virginia Department of Health reported 130,960 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state on Thursday.

The total number of probable and confirmed cases in Virginia is 137,960.

VDH said there have been 2,734 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state along with 186 probable COVID-19 deaths.

On Thursday, VDH reported 10,393 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 71 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Bristol, Va. – 171 cases / 9 hospitalizations/ 3 deaths (2 new cases/ 1 new death)
Buchanan County – 113 cases / 7 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths
Dickenson County – 81 cases / 7 hospitalizations/ 1 death (2 new cases)
Lee County – 254 cases / 22 hospitalizations/ 6 deaths (3 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Norton – 33 cases / 3 hospitalizations
Russell County – 228 cases / 22 hospitalizations / 4 deaths (1 new case)
Scott County – 177 cases / 15 hospitalizations / 4 deaths (1 new case)
Smyth County – 409 cases / 37 hospitalizations / 7 deaths (5 new cases)
Tazewell County – 238 cases / 15 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (6 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 499 cases / 46 hospitalizations / 14 deaths (7 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 385 cases / 32 hospitalizations / 7 deaths (2 new cases)

On Thursday, VDH reported 29 new cases in Southwest Virginia and one new local death in Bristol, Virginia.

Washington County reported the most new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with seven new cases.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
