VDH: 35 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 35 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths related to the virus on Friday.

Statewide, VDH reported 507,262 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 652,321.

VDH reports there have been 8,954 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,417 cases / 90 hospitalizations / 32 deaths (7 new cases/ -1 death)
Buchanan County – 1,396 cases / 100 hospitalizations / 38 deaths (1 new case)
Dickenson County – 917 cases / 40 hospitalizations / 15 deaths (1 new case)
Lee County – 2,406 cases / 109 hospitalizations / 46 deaths
Norton – 265 cases / 18 hospitalizations / 7 deaths
Russell County – 2,230 cases / 129 hospitalizations / 36 deaths (2 new cases)
Scott County – 1,789 cases / 121 hospitalizations / 52 deaths (3 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Smyth County – 2,773 cases / 192 hospitalizations / 91 deaths (7 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Tazewell County – 3,544 cases / 156 hospitalizations / 65 deaths (3 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 4,758 cases / 400 hospitalizations / 102 deaths (6 new cases)
Wise County – 3,083 cases / 157 hospitalizations / 94 deaths (5 new cases)
