VDH: 3 new COVID-19 deaths in Washington County, 84 new cases in SWVA

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) — Southwest Virginia counties reported 84 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths Monday, according to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).

All three deaths were reported in Washington County, according to VDH.

Statewide, VDH reported 385,892 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 478,619.

VDH reports there have been 5,363 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,160 cases / 72 hospitalizations / 24 deaths (2 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Buchanan County – 1,031 cases / 73 hospitalizations / 27 deaths
Dickenson County – 808 cases / 32 hospitalizations / 13 deaths (4 new cases)
Lee County – 2,056 cases / 85 hospitalizations / 33 deaths (10 new cases)
Norton – 225 cases / 14 hospitalizations / 2 deaths (1 new case)
Russell County – 1,889 cases / 101 hospitalizations / 21 deaths (4 new cases)
Scott County – 1,460 cases / 98 hospitalizations / 41 deaths (1 new case)
Smyth County – 2,327 cases / 155 hospitalizations / 69 deaths (2 new cases)
Tazewell County – 2,925 cases/ 114 hospitalizations / 29 deaths (16 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 3,922 cases / 284 hospitalizations / 74 deaths (17 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations/ 3 new deaths)
Wise County – 2,606 cases / 133 hospitalizations / 82 deaths (27 new cases)

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
