VDH: 265 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, 2 new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 175,187 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth on Saturday.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 190,873.

VDH reports there have been 3,439 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

VDH reported Saturday morning that there are 12,846 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 170 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 360 cases / 21 hospitalizations/ 7 deaths (10 new cases)
Buchanan County – 290 cases / 17 hospitalizations/ 4 deaths (6 new cases)
Dickenson County – 177 cases / 10 hospitalizations/ 1 death (8 new cases)
Lee County – 638 cases / 35 hospitalizations/ 11 deaths (22 new cases)
Norton – 61 cases / 5 hospitalizations (2 new cases)
Russell County – 623 cases / 48 hospitalizations / 8 deaths (29 new cases)
Scott County – 521 cases / 35 hospitalizations / 9 deaths (9 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations/ 2 new deaths)
Smyth County – 735 cases / 58 hospitalizations / 27 deaths (27 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Tazewell County – 632 cases / 32 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (48 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Washington County, Va. – 1,225 cases / 97 hospitalizations / 28 deaths (37 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 854 cases / 48 hospitalizations / 11 deaths (67 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)

On Saturday, VDH reported 265 new cases in Southwest Virginia and two new deaths. Seven new COVID-19 hospitalizations were also reported.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
